Donald Trump and Joe Biden had the first presidential debate in 2024 on June 27. This debate was marred with petty insults and attempts to slander the other person. Lies such as Trump claiming that abortions laws allowed for doctors to kill babies after birth ran rampant. Both parties attempted to interrupt each other or the hosts. Biden’s cognitive ability was largely questioned during this debate. He repeatedly was inaudible or incomprehensible. Calls for a different presidential candidate for the Democrats peaked after the debate due to his clear lack of awareness. A month later, Biden announced he would not be running for a second term. Describing the decision as “passing the torch to the next generation”.
