Jesse Welles World (“we”, “the site”) is a fan site for the artist Jesse Welles at jessewellesworld.com. It is not the official website of Jesse Welles and is not operated by or affiliated with Jesse Welles. This page explains in plain language what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices—including how we expect people to behave here. We don’t sell your data.

What this site is

The site is a fan-run resource featuring songs, lyrics, chord sheets, live show setlists, and related content about Jesse Welles. It is not the official website of Jesse Welles. You can browse without creating an account. Some parts of the site—for example song and show pages—may allow comments. If you leave a comment, we collect what you submit and display it publicly, in line with our comment guidelines.

Community guidelines

This site also hosts a community for those who enjoy that sort of thing. See the community guidelines for more details, but essentially, by creating a profile here, you agree to keep things respectful and on-topic. We’re not trying to run a courtroom—we’re trying to keep the vibe good for everyone, including Jesse.

Be kind. Don’t bully, harass, threaten, or target people. No slurs, hate, or pile-ons. If you wouldn’t say it to someone’s face at a show—or if you wouldn’t want Jesse saying it to you—maybe don’t type it. A decent rule of thumb: treat others the way you’d like Jesse to treat you. Disagreement is fine; cruelty isn’t.

Keep it real, not spammy. Fake accounts, scams, relentless self-promotion, or anything that feels like noise instead of community can go. Profiles and content on the site are subject to these guidelines. If something is offensive, abusive, or spammy, site admins may remove profiles or content without owing anyone a debate—though we’ll try to be fair.

You’re not stuck. You can delete your own profile at any time if you’re done here. You can also report behavior that breaks these rules so we can take a look. See the “report this profile” section on any other public profile to let us know of nefarious behavior or content.

We’re glad you’re here. Let’s keep it fun, safe, and a little bit weird – but in the good way.

Information we collect

What you give us. If you leave a comment, we store the name, email address (if provided), and comment text you submit. We use that to display your comment and, if needed, to respond or moderate. If you contact us by email or another channel linked from the site, we use that contact only to reply. We don’t add you to a mailing list unless you explicitly sign up for one.

What we collect automatically. The site uses cookies to work—for example, keeping you logged in if you have an account and remembering preferences. WordPress and any plugins we use may set cookies for security, comments, or functionality. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites for advertising unless we clearly say so (for example, if we enable advertising and disclose it here). Our host also records basic technical data in server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of access. We use that for security, troubleshooting, and understanding how the site is used in aggregate. We don’t use it to identify you personally unless required by law or to address abuse.

How we use your information

We use the information above to run and improve the site; show and moderate comments; give members personalized accounts saving favorite songs, releases, and show attendance with related stats; respond to contact or support requests; understand usage in aggregate (for example, popular pages) and fix problems; and comply with legal obligations or enforce our terms. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles for sale to third parties.

Third parties

Links to other sites. The site links to streaming services (for example Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music), ticket sellers, Amazon, and other external sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

Amazon Associates. We participate in the Amazon Associates program. Some links to Amazon include an affiliate identifier so we may earn a small commission if you make a qualifying purchase. Amazon may set cookies and use data in line with its own privacy notice.

Advertising (when enabled). We use advertising (for example, Google AdSense via SiteKit) to help fund the site maintenance. Registered site users who are logged in are not presented any ads while browsing on the website, but public non-logged-in users do see ads, which come from Google AdSense, and we try to watch for any irrelevant or offensive ads and block those when we can.

Social sharing (our accounts). We may post our own content (for example, new songs, show setlists, lyrics) to our social accounts. That process runs on our servers and does not involve sending visitor data to those platforms. If you follow us on those platforms, their privacy policies apply to your use of them.

Hosting and tools. The site is hosted and may use standard WordPress or third-party tools (for example, for backups, security, or performance). Those providers process data only to provide the service to us and in line with their policies and our instructions.

Your choices

You can choose not to leave comments. If you have left a comment and want it removed, contact us, and we’ll remove it where practicable. You can set your browser to block or delete cookies; some site features (for example, staying logged in) may not work if you block cookies. We don’t currently respond to Do Not Track signals; we don’t track you across other sites for ads. If that changes, we’ll say so here.

How long do we keep data?

We keep comment data as long as the post exists or until we remove the comment. Server logs are typically kept for a limited period (for example, a few months) unless we need them longer for security or legal reasons. We keep contact correspondence as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period after for record-keeping.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold—for example, keeping software updated and using secure hosting. No website can guarantee complete security. We will notify you if we become aware of a breach that affects your personal data.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so, please contact us, and we’ll delete it.

International visitors

The site is operated from the United States. If you are visiting from elsewhere, your data may be processed in the U.S. or other countries. By using the site, you consent to that transfer and processing in line with this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the current version on this page and, for material changes, we’ll note the date of the last update at the bottom. Your continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Contact

If you have questions about this privacy policy or your data, you can contact us through the contact method provided on the site (e.g. the contact page).
