What is this site?
This is a fansite dedicated to Jesse Welles! I’m not Jesse, but I really like his music. I enjoy making websites too, so here we are!
Who are you?
I’m Evan Mullins. I’ve been building websites for over two decades. I enjoy building with WordPress, the open source project, which I’ve contributed to and spoken about at conferences.
What was your motivation in building this site?
I kept finding songs on TikTok that weren’t on Instagram, YouTube, or his old Bandcamp, and vice versa. I wanted one place that could organize his songs, and I didn’t see many fan sites doing that. So I combined being obsessed with his music and building websites for a living, and made it!
How did you get into his music?
I stumbled on a song of his somewhere online (Walmart, of all places), then heard The Poor and had to find out everything about this guy who seemed to come out of nowhere. I hadn’t heard of Welles before, but I’m a big grunge fan and played in bands through high school and college, so it hit right.
What else do you listen to?
The Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, The Avett Brothers, and Goose — to name a few.
Why are there ads on the site?
To be honest, running a website isn’t free. I genuinely enjoy building and maintaining this space, but there are real costs behind the scenes—things like web hosting, domains, and more that keep everything running smoothly.
To help cover those expenses, you may see a few ads around the site. I try to keep them as minimal and non-intrusive as possible so they don’t get in the way of anything. If the ads bother you, I created an option where you can create an account on the site, and then you can browse ad-free – click the key icon in the header to sign up!
Thanks for supporting Jesse Welles World—just by visiting, you’re helping keep it online.
Another note on ads, when there are ads displayed in the video embeds of Jesse’s songs (like from YouTube), those are not site ads, and any revenue from those ads goes to Jesse and not me. The embed is just like you’re watching the video on YouTube. Their terms even state it, “Only YouTube and the video owner will earn revenue from ads on embedded videos. The site owner where the video is embedded will not earn a share.”
What’s the deal with the setlist stats?
I like data, stats, and connections, so I hooked the site up to setlist.fm api, and it pulls in setlists, and creates stats for songs and tours. It’s just fun and exciting to see what gets played where. Maybe because I’m a long-time Deadhead and data-nerd.
What are you working on next for the site?
I’m working on adding guitar chords and tabs for songs on the site. Also working on an update that allows site visitors to create an account on the site and track their favorite songs and shows, among other things.
Suggestions and corrections are welcome — just contact me.
Are you affiliated with Jesse or his team?
Nope. This is a fan site. I’m just a fan who made a thing.
I was fortunate to meet Jesse and Joel in 2025 after the show in Atlanta at Terminal West, and that was awesome!

What do you do when you’re not updating this site?
I’m married with kids, coach my kids’ soccer teams, and make websites for a living. We travelled full-time as a family for a few years pre-covid, but settled back down. We’ve got a dog, cats, and chickens to tend now.
Got ideas or spot something wrong?
Yes, please — reach out. I’m open to ideas and suggestions, and especially any corrections.
