Looking Forward to Looking Back

I don’t want to smoke just one more cigarette
Maybe the world will make more sense then
Maybe we’re just wasting our time
A few more moments we don’t need to think

Are we going to watch the sun come up again?
Sit and talk til’ it shines in our eyes
And then there ain’t no use in avoiding it
Another day sitting on the wheel of time, oh god

Keep spinning, yeah

I like skipping meals until I feel weak
It’s like the humbling of my flesh and bones
The sort of thing my mind alone can’t fabricate
My body must be attached to my soul, god

If I’m old can I at least be a sweet one
The kind that holds you when you lose your eyes
Why are all these people teamin' up on me
Ain't they got something, something better to do with their time

It’s natural for me to seek this happiness
Like it’s natural for the stones to sink
Where does my free will add all up in this
Am I no different from the birds and the beasts

And if we ever get this way again
